IE 8 … I’m Sorry… But You REALLLLLLY! SUCK!

I tried like 15 different ways with IE 8.  And every single way I tried IE 8 just is one of the worst browsers I’ve ever used.  Trying to do news reading and IE 8 is a big joke.  It just doesn’t work.  And doing it was raining in Microsoft Outlook is not really very good because it doesn’t handle the news feeds efficiently.  It handles them like mail.  So.  It’s just not really all that good to do news feeds in MS Outlook unless you have very few news feeds.

So I’m back to using Firefox and it is working much better.  I also have gotten rid of Roxio.  Because when Windows 7 I no longer need Roxio.  And that’s really because Roxio is a huge albatross program that takes a tremendous amounts of system memory and is very clunky and doesn’t seem to work very well.

I like the simplicity of Windows 7.  And I love the simplicity of Firefox.

That being said, I’m going to finish looking at the news before Aileen comes home.

Happy Trails… Godspeed… Pay It Forward….

  1. dear mickey, in my opinion opera is the best choice. it does not lame like ie8 and not dangerous unsafe like firefox is. all the best kohlenstoffeinheit (co2unit ;-)

  2. Thank you very much for your comment. When I used the Opera browser, I actually enjoyed it a great deal. However, that being said, the Opera browser does not have very much compatibility at all with my Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech program. And because my hands are not very functional, my choice of browsers has to be Firefox because it has a higher degree of compatibility with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Hardly any of the program calls that Dragon NaturallySpeaking uses worked in the Opera browser. Furthermore, I use Microsoft office as my office communications program, and Microsoft Outlook as my e-mail communication and management program. Opera is not very compatible with Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft office. So there are two areas where Opera is not compatible with the programs I use on my computer system.

But the main thing is, that Opera is not very compatible with my Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech program. And so as a result, it makes using Opera very difficult for me because my hands are limited in how much I can use them around the computer because of bone damage and arthritic damage to my hands. So once again, I have to use Dragon NaturallySpeaking is a speech program, because it gives the highest degree of effectiveness, regarding my use on the computer has the highest degree of compatibility with Firefox and Internet Explorer.

However, as I said before, I do find the Opera browser to be an excellent choice. And I think it’s an excellent rouser. It’s just not very compatible from my particular individual needs. But thank you very much for your comment because it really does help the entire process. When people like yourself make these comments and present extra information for the readers of my Journal to have so that they can have more choices than simply the ones I am providing and I believe that’s very important because as I said, I believe Opera is truly a fantastic browser. It’s just that for my particular needs it doesn’t really have the kind of compatibility that I’m looking for. However, I think that Opera is an excellent choice for many people. And you are right, the security that the Opera browser provides is absolutely fantastic.

I wish you all the best and I thank you again for your comment because it really does mean a great deal to me.

    Be well always,

    Nicole

  4. Thank you so very much for the kind response. And I really did enjoy that video. I’ve saved it to my favorites. And I’m going to talk about Opera this morning in a Journal entry.

    With warm regards, always,

  5. I have IE 7. I couldn’t get web page pictures to load with IE 8 so I went back to the 7. I still use windows XP and see no reason to upgrade all the time.

  6. Hello Mike,

I actually really agree with you, the only reason I went to Windows 7 is because I’m running a network with my wife’s computer. And like you I couldn’t get the images to load very well with IE 8 at all. It’s really a problem. And so I went back to using Firefox, but I did that because we have Windows 7 you really don’t have the option of going back to IE 7. And while I agree with your decision to stay with Windows XP. It’s really sort of sad, but the reality is that XP users are going to eventually be nudged in the direction of Windows 7. And I can certify that Windows 7 is a lot more stable than Windows XP and easier to use and all the programs you’re using on XP will work in Windows 7. The only thing that you’ll be confronted with, is that you won’t have an e-mail program. So you’ll have to use. Perhaps Mozilla’s Thunderbird or you could purchase a copy of MS Outlook, which is what I did.

But I went back to using Firefox because it has so many more features. And it is much more functional than IE 8 ever will be.

But I stand totally behind you on your decision to remain with Windows XP for the time being, because I can certainly understand how people who are using XP don’t want to rush. And that makes perfect sense.

I wish you all the best and if I can be of any assistance whatsoever regarding your computer system or software programs you’re using please let me know.

    Best wishes always,

    Nicole
